The British Sikh School is a member of Khalsa Academies Trust. In September 2013, the Trust opened Khalsa Secondary School in South Bucks as a new Free School for students aged 11 -19. The Trust is also planning to open The Atam Academy in 2015, which will be a Primary and Secondary Free School in East London.
The Khalsa Academies Trust Ethos
We will nurture the potential of all students and provide them with opportunities to achieve more than they thought possible. The Sikh faith is emphatic in respecting all faiths and does not seek to convert. Our vision for the school is based on three Sikh principles:
Beyond Academic Achievement
We will provide an exceptional academic education and encourage a passion for life-long learning where students, staff and parents will work together with honesty, integrity and self-discipline.
Beyond The Individual
We will foster all aspects of personal development and encourage students to take a life-long journey of self-discovery. The principles of Khalsa will support students in undertaking this journey towards purity of spirit by self-reflection and meditation.
We will inspire students to share their future skills, knowledge and income with those in need without discrimination.
