The word ‘Sikh’ means learner and as such the learner and the learner’s journey is at the heart of The British Sikh School ethos. Our ethos is informed by principles that are both British and Sikh in the hope that, by drawing from two cultural traditions, we can begin to work towards a more integrated Britain.
The British Sikh School is built upon the principle of equality for all people. Our founding principle is ‘Success and well-being for everyone’ (sarbat da bhala). We hope that this ethical principle will result in social cohesion; co-operation and compassion in multi-cultural Britain.
